Position of patient and cassette

Patient की टांगों को extend करके patient को x-ray table पर supine सुलाते है। patient का msp x-ray table के long axis से coincide होने चाहिए। patient को affected side की ओर 45° डिग्री rotate करते है। साथ ही hip को 45° degree abduct और 45° डिग्री flex करते है। तथा non-opaque pads के द्वारा इस position को support दिया जाता हैं । जांघ के lateral aspect को table top के cantact में लाने के लिए knee को flex करते है। इससे knee भी lateral position में आ जाता हैं। examine के दौरान दूसरे limb को उठाकर limb के पीछे रखते हैं support रखने के लिए।

इसमे एक 24×30cm की cassette का use किया जाता हैं। तथा bucky tray में longitudinally तथा सम्भवतः obliquely रखते है। cassette के centre को groin के femoral pulse के level पर रखते है तथा femur का upper third part शामिल होना चाहिए। कैसेट का upper border anterior superior iliac spine के level पर होना चाहिए।

Direction and centring of the x-ray beam 

X-ray beam के centre को affected side के groin के femoral pulse पर तथा cassette के लम्बवत देते है।primary beam को examination के दौरान area पर collimated जरूर करना चाहिए।
