Lumbo-sacral AP xray
यह projection विशेषतः lumbo-sacral articulation को देखने के लिए किया जाता हैं। lumbo-sacral articulation AP lumbar spine projection में ठीक से दिखाई नही देता है।
Position of patient and cassette
Patient को x-ray table पर supine सुलाते है। इसके साथ ही msp को bucky की midline के अनुरूप तथा लम्बवत रखते हैं। anterior superior iliac spine को tabletop से एकसमान दूरी पर रखते है। patient के comfort तथा lumbar lordosis को कम करने के लिए knee को flexed करके foam par पर रख सकते हैं। cassette को cranially विस्थापित करते है। जिससे कि cassette का centre central ray के अनुरूप हो जाए।
Direction and centring of x-ray beam
Central ray को लम्बवत से 10-20 degrees cranially तथा anterior superior iliac spines के level पर midline की तरफ देते है। सामान्यतः central ray का degree of angulation पुरुषों की तुलना में महिलाओं में ज्यादा दिया जाता हैं।
Essential image characteristics
Fifth lumbar तथा first sacral segment को शामिल करने के लिए image को collimated करना चाहिए।
